Bra Fitting General Enquiry Request an Appointment

We believe that wearing the correct size bra is of utmost importance

At Rigby & Peller we believe that wearing the correct size bra is of utmost importance, which is why we don't believe that you can use a tape measure to calculate your bra size.

Our fitters never use a tape measure to determine your size as a tape measure cannot take into consideration body shape. Instead our fitters are trained to assess each individual customer using their superior product knowledge and fitting expertise which is only gained by unique Rigby & Peller training and experience.

Because the shape and size of a woman's breast may change a number of times in her life, due to fluctuations in weight, sport, pregnancy, contraception, medication and diet we recommend that our customers come in for a fitting every six months.

Although we sell our beautiful lingerie online, we do recommend that all our internet customers treat themselves to the Rigby & Peller bra fitting experience and are correctly fitted by one of our expert fitters.

Rigby & Peller's founder and owner, June Kenton, says, "I am over the moon when women tell me I have changed their life. You wouldn't think that a bra-fitting would do that, but it does."

Fitting Advice

  1. Remember that there's no such thing as a definitive bra size.
  2. The bra size that fits the best will vary according to the style and fabric.
  3. The back of your bra should hug the narrowest part of your back and be at the same level as the front.
  4. Underwires should curve snugly around your breasts it should never cut into them.
  5. A test you can do is to push the wire of the bra when you have it on. If it feels soft, the wire is sitting on your breast tissue and you should try a larger cup size. If it feels hard, it is sitting on the ribcage and is therefore fitting you correctly.
  6. To put on a bra, bend over and lower your breasts into the cups. Then stand up and fit yourself more comfortably inside it.
  7. Make sure that you move around in your new bra. Lift your arms above your head and make sure it does not ride up and is still giving you the desired effect.
  8. Always fasten a new bra on the loosest hooks. The band should still be very snug. Wear and tear and washing will relax the fit. When this happens use the tighter.
  9. If you are unsure of the band fit, you should be able to run your finger along the inside of the band. When trying your bra on, try it on under a tight fitting top. Make sure that it gives you the line and shape that you are looking for.
